The volunteers in Turun Tuomiopäivä have been divided into teams according to their tasks. Every team has their own area of responsibility in the execution of the event and every team has their own leader as well.
Public Services
In CrossFit, the audience’s role in the atmosphere of the competition is significant. In this team we make sure that the audience gets a one of a kind experience. This team’s duties include working at the information desk, scanning the tickets, maintaining the public area and solving any upcoming challenges during the competition. In addition, this team takes care of the volunteers’ area at the backstage. Customer service spirit and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations are an advantage.
Scoring- & Athlete Services
In the scoring and athlete services we work in close cooperation with the judges and close to the athletes. Team’s duties include managing scorecards, calculating results, gathering the athletes together before going to the competition area and maintaining the athletes’ area. This is a team with a big T and the collaboration between team members is close. If you are dreaming of competing in the future, working in this team might benefit you as you get to know more about competing and work with the athletes up close.
Judging
Judges have a significant role in arranging a successful competition. Judge team’s duties include familiarizing themselves with the events before the competition and judging the athletes’ performances during the competition. A sharp and consistent line of judges guarantees an equal competing experience for every competitor. Good knowledge of the movement standards and previous experience in judging are an advantage. To this team we are primarily selecting people, who have completed the CrossFit Online Judges Course (link to the course).
Gear-team
In the gear-team you get to enjoy the atmosphere of the competition right from the heart of it, from the competition arena. Team’s duties include moving the equipment between events and heats. A gear team member can easily take in instructions and work seamlessly with the team in any situation. You do not have to be super muscular but all team members must be able to move around weights and other equipment smoothly.
See you in August!
